My Somewhat, Maybe, Sorta, Kinda, Brilliant Career

| Dec. 31st, 2007 09:23 am Fun title "Say Something Theological!" from Moral Discenment in the Christian Life by James M. Gustafson.
This title reminds me of when I was taking German in third and fourth grade, and people would look at me and order me to "Say something German!", and I would just have this look of "What should I say?". So for all of the theology nerds on the f-list, can you say something theological? 1 comment - Leave a comment

There have been hisses and growls all around. Jelly currently has a puffed up tail, which is the cutest thing ever. Leave a comment

| Aug. 27th, 2007 02:56 pm Ever had that feeling you were being lied to... It's because you are. This article, about the abuse of copyright by content holders, summarizes one of the many things that is wrong with our view of copyright in the modern age.
Did you know copyright is actually written into our constitution? And that ownership is important, but the fair use is just as important. Leave a comment

| Aug. 21st, 2007 05:07 pm I guess I am blinded by my own reading habits.
But not reading for a whole year.
My mom grounded me from reading when I was a kid, I would go behind her back for the printed word. Current Mood: shocked

| Aug. 1st, 2007 08:00 am One of W's many problems Listening to NPR I was reminded of a line from a movie that explained one of W's many problems. The interviewer questioned the wisdom of having a Navy general as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs when we are involved in a couple of land wars in Asia. "Land wars in Asia," I thought, "something about that phase sounds familiar." And then the light bulb went off...
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous in 'Never get involved in a land war in Asia,' but only slightly less well known is this: 'Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.'" -The Princess Bride
This explains something. Current Mood: Amused in a cynical way
